Why we all do this

Post by BradleyHagen » Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:17 am

Hi Folks!
I was just having a conversation with a buddy of mine who played in rival bands, etc back in the day this morning, and it was rather unfortunate.... His wife has terminal cancer...it is just sad sad sad... but we talked about collaborating on something in the near future, partly for therapy for him...and you know what ?? We all forget that MUSIC is always the answer...it always has been for me..... From the first time I heard Van Halen on Kasey Kasem's Top 40 countdown when I was 12, to doing Music Library stuff currently..... It isn't work....Music is FUN!! Music is an ESCAPE!! Music is just well....worth it at the end of the day..... HAVE FUN!!!

Hendrix used to use the term “Electric Church”. I think music certainly has a spiritual component to it. When we perform we are literally physically touching the listener as the sound waves from our instrument or voice vibrate the air and in turn touches the listener’s eardrums and body. For me music has always been the best counselor and therapist. I have played many times for Alzheimer patients and people with autism and the healing effect the music has on these people is amazing and humbling!
