Hey Marcus, Just one question: Can you release your exclusively signed songs on Spotify/iMusic etc?
If so, do you keep all of the monies earned from streaming/downloads or do you have to split this with the library?

Thanks!

Hey Steve. I double checked with my Exclusive libraries and they all allowed me to release my music. They don't collect any of the mechanical royalties at all. They only collect on licenses. I also re peaked at my contracts before contacting them about the issue. Once I knew for sure there were no contractual stipulations preventing me from releasing music, I contacted them all directly to get confirmation. Your mileage may vary. I would check your contracts first, then contact the publisher and just flat out ask them.

Hi Marcus, I knew you'd be a wealth of information. That's great info. I'm going to try get some of my songs signed exclusively but want to keep my 'portfolio' on Spotify, etc (and still try get a radio hit).
Many thanks!!

I missed this , congrats Marcus..great track too .

Not seen this show yet but I enjoyed Cobra Kai also a Youtube show that I saw another Taxi member got a placement for.

So how do they calculate any royalties on these things if it's a Youtube channel ?
