But I saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico... :o

:ugeek: Casey

PS No complaints ;)

A-List Hollywood Music Supervisor needs CONTEMPORARY SINGER-SONGWRITER SONGS in the stylistic ballpark of Rufus Wainwright, Elvis Costello, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine, Elliott Smith, Joanna Newsom, and The Tallest Man on Earth for a HIT TV Series. As always, DO NOT rip-off or copy the referenced artists in any way, shape or form. Use them ONLY as a guide for tempo, texture, and vibe. Your SONGS should be SINCERE, SWEET, ORGANIC and DOWNTEMPO. LYRIC THEMES should be about Romantic Relationships: BREAKING UP, FALLING IN LOVE, etc. AVOID specific lyrics about names and places. INSTRUMENTATION must be real, authentic and sound natural. ARRANGEMENTS should be more minimal than full or cluttered! Evoking emotion is the name of the game for this pitch!! Please submit Full-length Songs only. MALE or FEMALE VOCALS are both okay. All submissions need to be Broadcast Quality (excellent home recordings are fine), though it's notable that the referenced artists are pretty LO-FI, so check them out to see how slick they are NOT! You MUST own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights. THIS IS DIRECT TO THE MUSIC SUPERVISOR, so you will KEEP 100% of the income should you get a placement. ESTIMATED FEE: $2,000-$3,500. Please submit one to three SONGS (NO instrumentals please) online or per CD. ALL submissions will be screened on a YES/NO basis by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 10am (PST) WEDNESDAY, January 25th, 2012. TAXI # Y121025SS

Casey, I feel your pain! I had a few returns today on tracks that were as close to "a lock" as I've ever felt. And with no feedback.

Just leaves you scratching your head with frustration.

Anyway, your music is great, and your sense of humor is just as good. Thanks for the uplift, and better luck on the next one.

Hey Jim
I did get a fair amount of "reasons why" from the screeners on this one. I'm grateful for that. It's always nice when, on a Y/N, you get that little extra info. :D I agreed with the screeners on most points here. Overall the feedback was very encouraging. Sometimes you are close but no cigar.

Best,
:ugeek:  Casey

Great attitude. Totally agree. No complaints here either, you can't win 'em all. Having a sense of humor is a huge asset in this business.
