Wow, I guess Apple does listen to their customers. Firewire 800 and a starting price of $1,199 USD Just the thing for the portable recording musician. http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

That's really nice! I hope they will listen to us with 8cores as well. A New Logic or an update that fully optimises all cores! That's my dream for the moment!

Man - I just bought the MacBook White last week - was this 13" version available then? If It was I'll just kick myself for not looking closely at it then only a couple hundred more for the SD slot - ability to upgrade to 8G RAM and Firewire 800 (vs Firewire 400).

They just announced Snow Leopard OS which will come out in September. It apparently will improve the usage of multiple cores. Whether this will affect Logic or not, I'm not sure, but the 64 bit aspect of the OS is pretty darned exciting. I'd be willing to be (a little bit) that Apple is working on a 64 bit version of Logic to coincide with Snow Leopard.Patience, Grasshopper! (homage to David Carradine who will always be known as Kung Fu to me from my childhood). Mazz

When you can snatch the iPhone from my hand, then, you are ready. Yes Mazz if you could place that bet you would win. I have a source that is telling me that we will see something very soon. Also that it will be a major upgrade with significant features added. Here's to the future.Trent, you have 14 days to bring it back for any reason. If you want the new one they shouldn't have a problem with that.

Well, I've practice both Kung Fu and Karate, so watch out.. Don't think I will upgrade to snow yet, I let other people test it first. A 13" Mac book pro is NICE! I have a friend who just bought the sharpest 15", and he is very satisfied with it, except the price, very expensive, but you get what you pay for..

I'm keeping snow leopard away from my music machine till I'm sure it's safe to go into the water. But my non music macs are taking the plunge the second it's availble. When else are you going to ever say you did major upgrade to an os, got a huge performace boost without upgrading hardware and gained more hardrive space at the same time? Not to mention the cool new features. 29 bucks?! It's just silly.

I purchased my MacBook from a local retailer and they may not get the new Mac Book Pro's for a couple of weeks and I leave for a tour next week and wanted it with me. I did talk to them and they were willing to give me full credit towards the new one - but I had to return it before I left. So I have decided that I will stick with what I have. It is my second computer (my main one is a MacPro). If I find in the future that I really need the extra features of the Pro - I will give this to my wife and buy a new one.
