ORIGINAL, 1990’s-Style SMOOTH JAZZ SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, (up-to) $15,000, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement in an extremely popular Netflix Series. They’re searching for compelling Songs in All Tempos that you might expect to hear on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to) Sade, Al Jarreau, Kenny G, etc., etc. Please listen to the following references to get yourself in the general stylistic range of what they need: “No Ordinary Love” by Sade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WcWHZc8s2I “After All” by Al Jarreau: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg14HPuXLOU “Songbird” by Kenny G: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKGRQjjxk3k Please submit authentic-sounding Smooth Jazz Songs with solid musicianship, great vocal chops, and a smooth, classy vibe, similar to the references mentioned above. Your production should have “real-sounding” instrumentation. If you’re using any virtual instruments, they need to sound incredibly convincing! Your submissions can be actual vintage masters recorded in the late or early 1990s, or they can be songs recently recorded and just inspired by that era. ..Y170413SJ

"Vem Me Contar" was returned with the comment: "Your vibe and style is on target with the listing but your story line/lyric would need to stand out universally."

Not To Worry" has English lyrics; "Vem Me Contar" is sung in (non -universal) Portuguese.
I am pleased with the forward of course, but everything sounds universally better in Portuguese; don't you agree?
Anyway that's why I love to write Brazilian songs.

Cool, John--
Going toe-to-toe with the likes of Al Jarreau and Sade made this a dauntingly high bar of a listing-- congratulations. Nice tune, nice mix, and I dug the modulation at 2:46. The Kenny G. reference was a bit of a head-scratcher, though, eh??
