ORIGINAL, 1990’s-Style R&B SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor Placement in a Big Budget Feature Film. They’re looking for authentic, Mid-Tempo Songs (Modern/Retro-sounding or Old School Recordings can both work) that could fit in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references we got from our client: “After Party” by Koffee Brown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iHJ4ci7y-o “Too Close” by Next: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwEZRPkAAu8 “Tell Me” by Groove Theory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM9NYhIglDA Please send them original songs that have a genuine 1990’s sound and style. Your vocals should be well performed from start to finish, with a solid, soulfully expressive delivery. Your submissions can be actual vintage masters recorded in the late or early 1990s, or they can be recently recorded songs that are inspired by that era and sound like they could have been recorded and released back in the day. Universal lyrics that avoid specific names, places, dates, times, brands, and profanity were not specifically requested, but the lack of those things in your lyrics often make your songs easier for a Music Supervisor to use it. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed.
