Re: 2/2 Forwards - Soft Gospel Instrumentals
Suz,Both of these made a great soundtrack to my morning coffee. It's nice to hear "Water is Wide." Don't hear it much. I know it has many versions, but I love one of the folk verses:O love is handsome and love is fineAnd love's a jewel when it is newbut love grows old and waxes coldAnd fades away like morning dewYou do nice work, thanks for sharing it with us.Derek

Thanks, Derek, for the nice comments. Water is Wide does have oodles of verses, both traditional ones and ones done in New Thought communities. Both versions are sweet, and when sung, it really lends itself nicely to tons of harmonies. And, yep, Bryan. that was a real sax. I play with several different sax players in town; Dave (the one who played on these two songs) has this really soft, sweet kind of sound -- almost like an English horn, whether he's on soprano or alto sax. It really lends itself nicely to deep, reflective music. ,SuzP.S. Dave is a financial planner by trade and rarely plays sax anymore. However, he'll be coming in to my studio sometime later this summer to tinker around a bit. So if anyone needs some tender sax parts recorded for anything, let me know; I'll see if he wants to lay some tracks down. I would love to see him get his work out there in more ways.
