2 forwards for High Octane Instrumentals

Post by bigbluebarry » Thu Nov 13, 2008 5:21 pm

Here's the listing:ACTION/ADVENTURE/HIGH OCTANE INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a UK-based Production Music Library for Film/TV placement opportunities. They need really high energy tracks (no vocals) for car chase scenes, sports highlights, high suspense action/thrill footage, etc. Current sounding styles would be the best choice here: Rock/Electronica/Hard Rock/etc. A blend of orchestral instrumentation with the mentioned stylistic approaches might also be a great direction to take. They'll be looking for tracks that don't sound overly synth generated - authentic, pulsing and exciting! Your track should be within 1:00-3:00 and they'll mostly want to hear mid to uptempo tracks. They offer non-exclusive, 50/50 deals. Broadcast quality needed (great sounding home recordings are OK). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than October 10, 2008. What a great way to end the weekend!- Big Blue

I listened to your CD and I would also encourage you to do more acoustic guitar instrumentals. I don't have my notes in front of me but I jotted down my 3 favorite track #'s as I listened to your CD. I believe all 3 of them were acoustic guitar instrumentals. That's nice to know Blue Man. Yeah, life is hard for us split-personality types!! Later in the rally it hit me: Sure, World Music, why not, but why not submit more guitar tracks too? In fact, why not shoot for anything and everything? Those listings are starting to look more and more like ping-pong balls falling from the sky every day. Check out our friend Dean in action:

thanks everyone...Allen... Is that video from the seminar that Michael held here in Nashville back in May? If so, I was there That was my first intro to some of the "dots" like bmete, chits, crs7string and Dean.kjhman... thanks, that track is one of my favorites. When I first started writing it, I thought it was a little too much like Joe Satriani (my favorite guitarist of all time) and I took out some of the lead guitar parts. Then about a week later, a TAXI listing came out looking for Joe Satriani type songs, so I put those parts back in Jeff... sorry I missed ya at the Rally, but next year for sure!

It kinda grows on ya, doesn't it? <Thanks Dean K>I've been kicking myself for not driving down to that Nashville event. It wouldn't have been that difficult to swing down for. Glad you made it, bro!-Allen

Thanks Orest and Dave W. Dave P... No news yet, I had to re-track the song in a different key so they could sing it, sent them the files last week, left a message last night, haven't heard back yet.- Big Blue

Thanks B. Flat! I'm working on a song right now, not sure what listing it will fit but it should definitely fall in the category of "make you wanna break stuff." I hope to have it done in a couple of weeks, got some other higher priority projects to wrap up first.
