Really wanted this one...I initially missed it cause I didn't get my dispatch email for some reason, but TAXI re-opened it for me and the rest is history. OK...maybe not history, but its a first step. Quote:SERIOUS COMPOSERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY by a Music Producer who provides a large portion of the music for a major Daytime TV show. He has several TAXI composers under his roof already and has had hundreds of placements on this show in the last year. His intention is to contract 5 new "standby"composers who will replace those who are not available and/or take up slack when the "hurry up" projects come around. Awesome music, I've been wanting to write orchestrated instrumentals like these for a long time, the truth is I don't know where to start. Any tips?Jose

Any tips?JoseStart with a very short concept, maybe only 10 to 30 seconds long. Make it "manageable". Start simple with long notes and not a lot of movement. Also, having a woodwind play a line then a brass instrument play the next line... switching things up makes a difference.A book 10,000 pages long could be written (and probably has) but that's the "Cliffs Notes" version.

I played with EWQL once, but had so many options for the strings, and couldn't decide what I wanted, I had a melody in my mind, but wasn't able to make it sound like this.I guess I am lacking Orchestration knowledge, I will give this a try again.thanks

Not long after I got the full Gold version, I actually had our local high school orchestra teacher come over and tell me what articulations were what and for what purposes they would get played or used. That was actually very helpful.
