3 Forwards for Middle Eastern Cinematic/Ambient!

Post by MarkFeil » Mon Apr 28, 2025 2:45 pm

Last week I received 3 forwards on 3 submissions for a Cinematic/Ambient Middle Eastern Dispatch Listing!

"Desert Dream"
https://www.taxi.com/members/oqCxRDHUTF ... sert-dream

"Valley of the Kings"
https://www.taxi.com/members/oqCxRDHUTF ... -the-kings

"Caravan of Dreams"
https://www.taxi.com/members/oqCxRDHUTF ... -of-dreams

Lots of CINEMATIC/AMBIENT INSTRUMENTALS with MIDDLE-EASTERN flavor are needed by a leading Music Licensing Company with an excellent track record of placements outside of the U.S. market. This Company is distributed internationally by Multiple World-Class Publishers that work with shows that air virtually everywhere in the world.

Notable: We are frequently hearing about all the awesome placements this Company is landing for TAXI members.

TAXI Tip: If you nail this pitch and land in this company's catalog, you might not have a lot of competition when supervisors and editors are searching for this genre. This is a great chance to be a standout in a potentially under-populated genre. Zig when everybody else zags. ;-)

Sounds and influences from the following geographical areas could all potentially work: North African, Andalusian, Mediterranean, and anywhere from the Middle East all the way to India.

This Company is looking for Instrumentals in the general stylistic ballpark of the references below:

"Blue As The Turquoise Night of Neyshabur" by Yo-Yo Ma

"Temple by the Nile" by Marco Rinaldo

"Cinematic Arabian Oud" by Rafael Krux

Note: We think some light, non-lyrical vocals could work here to help accentuate the cultural influence, but they are NOT required by any means.

Please submit original Instrumentals with cinematic soundscapes, ethereal atmospheres, and authentic sounds from the Middle East and other surrounding areas! Your submissions should have dramatic motifs, culturally-rich melodies, and solid arrangements with natural, free-flowing development. Since the listing is open to a wide variety of ethnic influences, instrumentation may vary based on which direction you go. Some potential instruments to feature are violin, oud, qanun, ney, santur, rebab, baglama, kamancheh, bouzouki, etc. Additional instrumentation could potentially include ethereal synths, ambient drones, cinematic soundscapes, etc. Please make sure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality, and very realistic-sounding if they are organic based.

NOTE: This Company is looking for tracks with an ambient, free-flowing sound. Some percussion instrumentation can be used sparsely, but we recommend NOT creating a steady rhythm of any kind.

Your submissions should be around 3 minutes in length, give or take, and definitely no shorter than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Non-faded, buttoned endings will work best. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

AI ALERT: This company does not accept or sign music that has been melodically composed using generative AI, nor does it accept backing tracks or full instrumental tracks created with AI.

This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the music you pitch for this opportunity is NOT already signed with other Companies or Catalogs. Specific deal points will be handled directly between you and the Company. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity, and you need to be affiliated with a Performing Rights Organization for this company to include your music in their catalog. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you'd like, online or per CD. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025. TAXI Dispatch # D250415DE

WOW, Mark - BIG CONGRATS are due. Just some response thoughts on these -
great tension - had me thinking of scenes in Raiders Of The Lost Ark.
And that slow-to-a-crawl pace/tempo - vary 'daring' (I'm guessing the ref tracks were examples to follow).
That brought to mind a documentary about Ray Charles - when he recorded "Georgia"/"Georgia On My Mind" -
many thought he was nuts to do a song that was so slow it drove the drummers crazy. :? 8-) :D

2 cents from a lurker in The Peanut Gallery.
