hey Questor...yup this mix seems more alive in the lastso its def a step in the right directioni can hear the two guitars a panned in the intro/ending thatssoundin good...it would be cool to hear the verse/chorus have the main riff doubled and panned a bitthe vocals are really improved..i agree with B. Flat to tone downthe chorus effect a bit..maybe use a flanger on certain vocal parts(maybe in the hooks "anything can happen on a sat. night)..that would change things up a bitthis is a up tempo song but the drums seem a bit tight whenit comes to the fillshope t his helped, and i am glad you are workin on this onediligently!

Much better! Drums need something, compression? is there too much compression? some eq? not sure what, but they don't quite punch through like they should. I'm also in agreement with the others that the vocals could use a little less of whatever is giving them the extreme stereo field. Just concentrate on getting them to fit perfectly in the center & that will make the music kick more. This is a HUGE improvement, I think this song has a lot of potential for you!

Hey Questor,Fun track!! Sign me up with the guys......the drums sound "ticky" and not really full-fledged up against the guitars. I think it's runnin' a little bit fast lyric-wise, vocally. An old trick would be to adopt a more lazy, stylized way of singing that allows you to cut down the amount of syllables needed. Sorta like I write (which is sorta like I sing, lol). You say "she's a good girl"......try "she a good girl" for instance, it'll add up by the end of the line to a little more space without feeling rushed. "anythin' c'n happ'n onna sat'day night" type thing. Ya know what I mean?Either that or jes slow the whole thing down a few bpms, give it more of a sexy grind instead of pushed-hard-put-up-wet feel. That's jes me. FUN track!!

Yeah Eric, much improved.I'd agree with the points the others have made, but my suggestion would be to add backing vocals at: "Go, Baby Go" to lift it.It does have potential. How's the beard coming on? Well done,Dave.

Hey, What are you using for the drums? The ride cymbal really sounds midi-fied... If I can help out with the drum sound I most definately will, lemme know...I prefer the sound of the vocals on the original - not sure if you've got a bit of a chorus effect on the new version?I think when the line "anything can happen on a saturday night" is sung, there shouldn't be any instrumentals play, so do like a drum flam on the 1st beat so that when it all comes back together on the next bar, it adds a bit of dynamics to it.Lyric IdeasOne sweet baby pulls aside and asked if I wanted to drive,Next thing I'm behind the wheelwith this hottie by my sideShe reached on over and whispered light,Saying anything can happen on a saturday nightJust an idea... I still really dig this song, but I agree with squids, that sometimes the sentences sound rushed, I really can't wait to hear this when it's finished - it's gonna be an awesome song!!!Hope this HelpsTake CareB

i agree with aimusic about the ride cymbal, especially in the chorus', it just jumps out at ya and is distracting. the drums sound a little too mechanical for me.i love the guitar work! much potential for a great song.

I think you may have a hit song here. It really rocks for sure. Please take the advise of a old time rocker. Dynamics is everything in a song like this. I would back off of the instrumentation more during the verses it's imperative the vocals are out front and understandable on this tune they make the song. If there not out front all you have is a cool jam secession that any great garage band can perform. Dynamics is the key!!Take the Rolling Stones you can clearly understand every word they ever uttered on a song except if the were trying to disguise it, they are the king of rock and roll. Also I think my friend silvercord last post on this thread had some very good ideals to help break it up a little where it doesn't sound the same all the way through. You have a hit I believe the best of luck with it and keep rocking. Take care Mild Bill

Hi all,Thanks for all the feedback. Apologies for not replying earlier, as I have been concentrating my spare time on finishing this one up (hopefully). I modified the original post above with a description of the latest changes, but most of you already know what they are since you all suggested them! (Biggest changes are the drop in the stereo vox, stronger drums, slight choruses, and slightly tweaked beginning and ending.)Thanks again for all the help and I hope this is another step in the right direction, but if not please let me know as my objectivity is pretty shot after hearing and tweaking it so many times I am sure you all know what I am talking about when I say I can hear this song in my sleep now!

Yeah, it's a bit like Space Cowboy meets She Got Legs by zztop. Except both those tunes were danceable, this one's really flyin' too fast to dance to it.
