LOL, yeah and if you're going May '85 it better Tama! (Sonor would def be too "November" for this listing.)I really should have chosen a 22.5" kick with a 0.75 mm head instead of a 22.25" with the 0.5 mm skin. The latter is SO MUCH MORE June, 1989 than May, 1985.

Really good stab at it Peter! I Like It!
I can understand your dismay after the work put into it.
My guess is...
In the Dispatch listing Taxi mentioned "Urgently" and "She"
So I'm thinking that "She" was the actual screener looking for the right song without spending time to critic...
but instead, find "The" song and run back to the film's editing room so the workflow could continue on the movie.
Feels to me that she found one she really liked before hearing yours and finished the screening to see if anything would Top what she had already heard.
That would explain why the critique was short and sweet, to let you know that it WAS GOOD in her ears.
That is how it can be seen as a positive.
(This is seriously just a guess)
Absolutely yours will be a winner in a library!

Re: 80's New Wave instro doesn't make it ...
haha, Uncle!!
On a similar note, I tried to do a soft rock, Eagles-style instro about a year ago (that couldn't have sounded anymore Eagles without being sued) and the only thing the screener said in the return notes were, and I quote - "The hi hat is phasing with the tambourine." Here it is, for curiosity: https://soundcloud.com/moanakeiki/agave ... -dangelo-c
Thank you, Cass!!
I can dig the hypothetical, but it would have been nice if the screener mentioned something like that.
Time to dust myself off and write some more,

Very nice piece! That's gotta have a placement in a library somewhere, no? (I mean, it would if it didn't .02 dB of excessive sibilance on the bottom head of the third rack tom. At least that's what killed it for me)soft rock, Eagles-style instro

This would makes sense.Feels to me that she found one she really liked before hearing yours and finished the screening to see if anything would Top what she had already heard.
