Hi GuysThis is my first attempt at an 80's sounding track... I'm trying to go for more of the synth sound ALA Depeche Mode/Tears for Fears etc... I know that there's a lot of sloppy synth in there, that I'm going to fix up...Just wondering if anyone thinks it's on the right path or if I should put my focus into something else like construction work Many ThanksBradThe track is called Love Is The Drughttp://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=751333

Re: 80's Track
Heck, I am no authority on this style of music, but I sampled a number of the tracks including the one mentioned.Overall, I think there is some good stuff in them all (to varying degrees) with the 80's one needing the most "filling out" with some additional instruments/loops.One thing *I think* would greatly enhance the atmosphere of the tunes would be some vocal loops...nothing to crazy or excessively redundant. Perhaps in the area of Crystal Method's first album. (Which appeared on many tv series and in some films too I believe. Most popular being the title/intro soundtrack for the series "Third Watch"...Also the whole album was used for the music track for the Playstation One game titled "N2O"...which is a great game, in large part due to the soundtrack.)As with Crystal method, I think your music would benifit from both sexy female vocal loops (with perhaps differing levels of sugestive lyrics) as well as both deep and high male vocal loops...This is hardly and in-depth critique, but hopefully it has some substance worth thinking about.Nice work overall.(of course this is just my opinion)

Re: 80's Track
I like it....I'm going back and forth with the intro...maybe not tight sounding.....since you're using the keyboard riff for awhile, I'd come up with more variations to work in and out of.....One thing i can say about 80's bass is more movement...especially octaves....also more melody and counter melody overall.....I guess it needs more......just one persons' opinion....good luck,Vicky
