A Few Forwards after a Long Drought

Post by rk000 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 8:06 am

I'm a 5-year Taxi member happy to report 2 forwards today (my first in many months). While I missed the hat trick, I will keep hope alive with a nice thought (“Super cool, but a little hip for the room...compliments on a very cool piece.”) from the reviewer on my track ‘Sunspotting’ which I had submitted for a New Age instrumentals listing. All songs mentioned are on my Taxi page (there is a link in the signature portion below). Thanks for listening!1) ‘Downburst’ passed the bar here:SOLO ACOUSTIC GUITAR INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. Styles and moods can vary, but please no Latin or Flamenco type instrumentals - we ran a separate Dispatch listing (D090820LA) looking for Latin Instrumentals. Please do not submit instrumentals with other musical accompaniment, they want solo guitar performances only. Tracks can range between 1-4 minutes in length - instrumental presentation must be top-notch! Broadcast quality is necessary (excellent sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Noon (PST) on Monday, August 24, 2009. TAXI #D090824IN2) An instrumental edit of the song ‘Careless’ (from a band I played in called Bluestone Moon) made it through for this listing:CONTEMPORARY POP INSTRUMENTALS - OF ALL STYLES - including Dance/Pop, Pop/R&B, Pop/Rock, Mainstream Pop, etc., are being sought by a Production Company/Music Library (with clients such as the Discovery Channel and MTV and film credits such as American Gangster and Bourne Ultimatium) for inclusion on their roster to pitch for Film and TV song placements. Excellent arrangements, performances and recordings are a must. They offer a non-exclusive publishing deal with a 50/50 split on any upfront license fees as well as back-end performance royalties (meaning you will keep the writer share, the publishing share will go to the company). Broadcast Quality is needed (excellent sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Thursday, August 13, 2009. TAXI #Y090813PO

Hey, congrats on the forwards! Downburst sounds great - is that DADGAD tuning? Sounds great."Take" intro sounds a lot like John Mayer's NEON, but cool jam. Great music.

Thanks a lot, fullbirdmusic, Casey H, and markjsmith, for checking out the tunes! fullbirdmusic, I do use a lot of DADGAD for solo acoustic, but the tuning on Downburst is CGDGAD. Neon has a fantastic guitar riff (I wish I had written THAT), so I will take your good point as a compliment. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
