A few more questions

Post by LesSampou » Fri Oct 23, 2015 4:47 am

Hi Ralliers! (Rally-ers?)

Looking forward to seeing those little pink (red blue hello) dots!

AM watching the Taxi TV episode re: Rally. Excellent so far if you haven't watched it yet. Poor Michael, not sleeping. Man this guy works hard for us...
I really got excited about the Key note speakers and the subject about changing times, couldn't be more appropriate!!

A few questions:

1. When we prepare our CDs to hand out, is it ok to have numerous songs when submitting them for the "grab bag" events, or should we have one chosen song on a cd that we'd like the speaker to play, if chosen? Or, can we highlight in yellow a numbered song?

2 When do we have access to bios on the mentors? At the Rally or before hand? Googling is ok but some of the info is outdated, I've learned.

3. The long list of classes that are going to be presented.....are they also on a schedule (when/where) and how do we access those? Some look great, and i see some of your names on them!!:)

4. LAST, What about the open mics? I'd love to get up but am not bringing my guitar (planes trains and automobiles...) and also can't imagine the chaos of "first come first served" but for those of you who have done them, can you give me some insight into how they are run, and the pros and cons perhaps?

Thank you thank you!

Oh, and thanks to some of your advise, I just signed up for Saturday's Lunch...hope to see many of you there.
Best wishes,
Les

Still watching Taxi TV episode -- all you newbies like me; this is ESSENTIAL stuff if you have ANY questions. So I really should have watched this sooner (:) Duh. Thank you Michael!

I only make one rally CD which has a bunch of songs and I use it for both handing out (to all those sups who BEG me for a CD ;) ) and drop boxes for panels. For each listening panel, Taxi gives you a sticker for your name, genre, and track number. I note the track number on the sticker and also circle or highlight it on the track list. I've never had a problem doing that.

I did hear Michael say that he suggests putting single songs on drop box CDs but I've been fine the other way. But who am I to disagree with the boss? One thing's for certain. If there is only one song on a CD, there is no way they can accidentally play the wrong track!

If your other rally questions weren't answered by the Taxi TV, give a shout!

Don't forget to wear a dot on your badge!

See you there!
:D Casey

Thanks Casey, that's what I'd like to do too.
Less mess and bother....
Taxi TV was pretty impressive. I'm re-signing up for membership based on Michael's amazing outline of the rally alone:)

Thank you Bob,
I just became aware of them last night. Very organized and wow, how to choose?? But bottom line; it's going to be fun and so very enlightening.
Hope to meet you there, Les:)
