A newbie saying hello
Hi my name is Phil and I just joined the forum. I was a Taxi member 20 yrs ago and I'm thinking about joining again. I have always been light years behind when it comes to technology but I just bought my first DAW and I am interested in instrumental music cues. This is a steep learning curve for me and my main question is when will I be ready to join Taxi. Just scratching the surface now. Any guidance?

Without being too impulsive about it or knowing your abilities I'd encourage you to dive right in and start writing for and submitting to listings.
Keep reading the Forums and watch Taxi TV.
Get on the email list so you will be notified for new listings.
Any listing that is of interest to you - go for it!
Yes, by all means use Peer to Peer to test your tracks, but really, why wait?
If this is something you want to do, do it!
Best of luck!
Jay

Thanks Tom, I'll try to post something on peer to peer. Of course my first question is how do I do that? I think I've uploaded something to soundcloud. (this is all so new to me, you have no idea) I've completed one instrumental que on my new DAW and it came out pretty good but I wasn't writing to a listing, just grabbing some sounds and trying to find out how it works. Once I put it on soundcloud it classified it as smooth jazz. If I can figure out how to post it that would be my first question, what genre is it? And , of course, is it any good? I'm 66 yrs old and I was playing in bands back in the early 70's so this is quite a challenge but i'll figure it out.CTWF wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:58 pmHi Phil - and welcome back!PhilipSmith wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:35 pmHi my name is Phil and I just joined the forum. I would say, if you have something that you think fits a listing, post it in the peer-to-peer section. If successful members in the corresponding genre tell you it is good, then you might have a good shot at a forward, and maybe the time has come to join again and see what happens.
