Chopin: "Simplicity is the highest goal, achievable when you have overcome all difficulties. After one has played a vast quantity of notes and more notes, it is simplicity that emerges as the crowning reward of art." http://www.ronschultz.org
As a George Strait fan, my 'a la' for this song would be his "Cross My Heart", which was in the movie "Pure Country" - very similar vibe & tonality & sentiment.
As an Old-School Country fan - I was Jonesin' for some pedal steel & fiddle (to replace the synthy-strings) - and probably a live drummer.
BUT - I see you listed this as a DEMO - so what you've got is fine - and proves the point that it's the song/story/lyric that need to be the star - and you delivered that.
I agree with the suggestion to reconsider the title - and possibly repeat/strengthen the Chorus elements - IF you were pushing for radio play.
As an Old-Guy - songs that go more than 3 minutes (and I've got a few longer songs)... well, they just sorta fall out of the radio thing.
Great vocal performance really helps 'sell' this song, too.
2 thumbs up - and it would be cool to see someone pick this up and have fun with it.
Hope that helps.
