A surprising forward for dark orchestral

Post by Onaginoffegin » Tue Apr 28, 2015 9:17 pm

The reason I was surprised by this forward is because it's so far removed from my comfort zone.

But that's what I like about TAXI — they're constantly challenging you to try something new.

I came to TAXI viewing myself solely as a jazz composer. But TAXI has really helped me expand my musical horizons, and encouraged me to compose music in a wide variety of genres.

DARK, MYSTERIOUS, TENSION-BUILDING ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a very successful Music Licensing Company that offers EXCLUSIVE and NON-EXCLUSIVE deals. They get tons of great placements in Films, TV Shows, Commercials, etc., and are currently expanding and freshening up their catalog! Please submit Instrumental Cues in All-Tempos and listen to the following references as a general guide for the texture, tone, and vibe they need.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D:

Gotham:

Quoting the source: “The most important part of this pitch is the authenticity. I want to be fooled into thinking the orchestra is the real deal, so any samples used should be sonically indistinguishable from authentic orchestral instrumentation.”

Give them original Instrumental Cues that stick to a central melodic theme while building tension and dynamics by adding and subtracting instrumentation to keep your piece moving forward toward a dramatic crescendo with a buttoned or stinger ending. Your submissions should be approximately 90 seconds to 3 minutes in length. Broadcast quality is needed (excellent home recordings are fine).

Please, do NOT copy or rip off the music in the referenced TV shows in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for feel, texture, and tone. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. This Company offers both EXCLUSIVE and NON-EXCLUSIVE deals. The specific deal points will be negotiated on a Track-by-Track basis directly with the Library. Please submit one to three Instrumentals online or per CD no later than 11:59pm (PST) on Wednesday, April 15th, 2015. TAXI #U150515TO

Awesome! It's true, one week you're writing for dark orchestral and the next your writing inspirational pop. Keep up the good work.
