Acoustic Guitar Listing aka "David Gray"

Post by bigbluebarry » Sun Apr 13, 2008 4:08 pm

ACOUSTIC GUITAR INSTRUMENTALS with very simple arrangements are needed by an Academy Award-nominated Documentary Film Producer. She's not looking for elaborate instrumentation or accompanying tracks that get in the way of the acoustic guitar. A sparsely arranged, lush and poignant acoustic melody is what's really needed here. There is no style limitation, but mid tempo to ballad will be preferable. If you stripped the vocal from a David Gray song, you would be in the ballpark of what this producer is hoping to find. Broadcast quality and excellent performances are a must. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS -- NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI -- and must be received by Apr. 15, 2008. This listing seems to be kinda wide open. Here's the track I'm planning on submitting. Any feedback would be appreciated.Elizabethtown - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... Thanks,Big Blue

The same topic is also under Acoustic Guitar Instrumentals, but I'll continue here....Big Blue...your track seems to meet the criteria, as far as I can tell. As posted previously, the David Gray reference seems to confuse matters...I've already posted a song that I'm sending, but I'm also considering sending these two in as well.I'm just wondering if they might be just a tad too complex:When One of Us Leaves This World (Acoustic Guitar Version)http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=1First Lie Winshttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=43867&stream=1Should I send them?Harry

Harry... I would submit them. They seem to fit the bill to me - "A sparsely arranged, lush and poignant acoustic melody is what's really needed here. There is no style limitation, but mid tempo to ballad will be preferable."By the way, I enjoyed listening to those tracks. What type of mic and guitar did you use to record those?

I always thought that, even if a listing isn't critiqued by Taxi, that there should be at least a sentence saying why...just so we'd understand and maybe learn for future listings.Harry
