Adjusting volume Peaks in ProTools
Hello, wondering if anyone could answer this volume setting problem: In any project, I will use a Master track. Occasionally, the Volume level peaks into the 'red area'. I can pull the volume down so that the peaks are lower however, the 'red area' still stays highlighted during Play mode. How do I reset the Master track to test the new volume setting? So far, the only way I am able to reset it is to close the session and reopen it. To me, this seems like a waste of time. When I use ACID software, as soon as I hit Stop button, the volume resets itself automatically. I'm sure there is a simple solution to this. Please assist.K

Option/click on any of the peak indicators. And use a good peak limiter so it doesn't get red again.

Option-clicking on *any* one clears them all. Clicking on the one that peaked clears that one.At least that's how it used to work - I don't have PT open right now.

Also there is a preference that determines how long the peak stays on... though I prefer the forever setting because if something peaks I want to know and not miss it because I didn't notice it in X seconds.
