Advice on Edits

Post by GaryShaffer » Fri May 30, 2025 5:59 pm

Looking for any insight on a return I received for Modern Alt Rock Instrumentals
Listing TAXI # S250522CK

The feedback was generally positive
https://www.taxi.com/my/submissions/20569061/critique
My confusion comes when the reviewer says "The edits at 1:26 and 2:02 need to be tighter. They're too sloppy."

I'm sure I have lots to learn, but they seemed like pretty good edit points to me. I added the one at 2:02 after watching an episode of Taxi TV where the guest suggested that adding short tags at the end of songs might lead to increased usage.

I take the good with the bad and try to keep improving, but this one has me confused. Any tips on how to improve these edits (or other feedback) are greatly appreciated.

Song "Empty Rooms":

Thanks!

Hi Gary,
The first edit point doesn't resolve smoothly, it almost was or sounds like it cut off before it goes back to the next section, another 1 or 2 seconds would be better. The second edit you had the buttoned ending right at 2:00 minute mark and that is where it should have ended with a natural decay instead of carry on with that tag after.

Hope this helps.
