Advice on good books?
I heard some good advice at the Taxi conference last year; “Read, people. Nothing will come out of your brain if you don’t put anything into your brain.” Well, I’m feeling a little dumb (uninspired) lately and I need to "fill my brain." Got any suggestions for good reads? I usually prefer fiction, but I’ll take whatever ya got.

Quote:"Tunesmith" by Jimmy Webb. Great read. Galveston has to be one of the great songs of all time, IMO. Witchita Lineman isn't bad either. Let's talk about vibe and atmosphere.http://www.amazon.com/Tunesmith-Inside- ... 8-1MazzWow, thanks for posting that, Mazz. I absolutely love Jimmy Webb, and I'm gonna order a copy of this book right now....I've been looking for books on Webb, and I couldn't find all of them....so I'm taking out the 'ole plastic as we speak. "Witchita Lineman" is one of my favorite songs. Of course, he also wrote one of the best and the worst songs, hehe..."MacArthur's Park."

I confess... I left the cake out in the rain. But the screener said it would be okay and was appropriate for the listing. That is a good book, although some of the whining about the relationship with Johnny Rivers didn't make much sense, or hold up on the third go around. But the MUSIC stuff is great.
