Advice re song picked up at Rally

Post by joshcolemanmusic » Wed Dec 12, 2012 3:04 pm

Hi All,
I was lucky enough to both have my song played at one of the main stage panels and have 2 publishers take it with them. The second one responded right away to my email saying he liked it and will keep it mind, but didn't offer to sign it. The first one hasn't responded at all. I stopped him after the event and asked if he'd prefer to contact me or have me reach out to him and he said "I'll contact you. I promise you." No contact yet. I emailed him once and left a vmail but alas.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hey Josh
Nice meeting you at the rally. First congrats on having a song so well received by industry pros! Very cool! 8-)

I think at this point, the best thing to do is just wait. When one of them is interested, they will contact you. In terms of time, in this slow moving industry, it hasn't been very long since the rally. So, emailing them again could make you a bit annoying to them.

If you haven't heard from one of them in a few months (maybe April-May), maybe touch base by email.

Patience.... This industry requires lots of it! I know how you feel.

Best,
:D Casey

Thanks Casey. I appreciate it. That's my instinct too, as hard as it is to resist bugging the crap out of them!!
Great to meet you too and congrats on all the success you're having!

Heya Josh.

I've been wondering (as a person currently sitting in Dayton Ohio typing this) what is the significance of your handle?

Hey Russell

Hi to a Daytonian from a former Daytonian! I lived there till I was 21 and then moved out to the SF Bay Area where I've lived since. I'm calling my band The Dayton Ohio, which is why I have that handle. But to be honest,
I may just change it to my name since it's a little cumbersome...

I went to EJ Brown grade school (now torn down) and Colonel White High (now torn down). Sad. How about you?
