After a forward....?

Post by ljweber70 » Sun Sep 16, 2007 10:53 am

I'm sure someone can direct me to a previous thread that answers this question, but since I'm new at this: ......I've had some songs forwarded to a few music library listings. At what point would I expect to hear from someone if they are interested in my songs? Thanks!Larry

Hi Larry, welcome to the forum,There's no telling when they will contact you, if at all. Some have been contacted months after a forward, some 1 to 2 years afterwards. Sometimes you won't hear anything at all. There's no rhyme or reason for it, or at least it looks that way from our perspective. I've been forwarded multiple times to the same company over the past 3 years and have not heard a word from them. I've also signed some deals from forwards as well.A good suggestion that has been made on the forum somewhere about how to deal with the time lag goes something like this: while you're waiting to hear from the client you were forwarded to, write some more songs and submit to more listings. This way, you're continually building your catalog and doing something to take your mind off wondering when they'll call! How about putting up some links to your forwarded material so we can share in your success!Mazz
