Hey!!!Pina Colada is Pineapple. Coconut juice and Rum.You should invent your own........."Pina Cola".With Pineapple, Cola and Rum.Second thoughts. Don't. It sounds awful.I wouldn't want to be responsible for you prematurely decorating the table with the food you had just consumed.Hope you had a good break. That was a quick 3 days.

That was a quick 3 days.It is SO hard to stay off these boards, too much fun stuff going on.Yeah, Pineapple, Cola and Rum does sound like it could make one barf, but if you want to really barf, I'll tell you what I love to drink, and you're free to say, 'you take perfectly good Scotch and do that to it???" I love to drink Glenfiddich (sp?) and Pepsi....no lie, I love the taste of those two together...yes, weird...

Now you can write a song about that, and call it "Whisky without the 'E'"

Hi, I do believe "Masquerade" was written and originally recorded by Leon Russell, but correct me if I am wrong.

George was originally as singer, then got known as a guitarist, but Masquerade changed all that. I don't know if he was the first to record it, I think fivehands is right about Leon writing it, but George had a big hit with it that changed his career, which was the orginal theme of the thread.

Yes, that did put George Benson out there in the limelight as a singer. Before that I believe he was getting worldwide acclaim for instrumental albums like "Breezin'". The only singing he did on that album was with his guitar licks note for note. But after Masquerade he had a few more singles that did quite well so it did open up a whole new area for his career. I think Glen Campbell was mainly a session guitarist before he had a hit single with his voice, and again, correct me if I'm wrong but that may have been Wichita Lineman and that was a monster hit written by Jimmy Webb.
