Alternative Brit-pop/progressive
Thanks for taking the time to review this song. http://soundclick.com/openSupper's Ready (the dream is over) (Steve Kim) Time to wake up, the dream is over.Time to get up off that floor. The father's calling all his children, The invitation's at your door...The king has gathered all his servants."Prepare the feast which is to come.Invite the poor, the blind and the cripple. It doesn't matter where they're from."Chorus: No time to dreamIt always seems this world is so realIt's time to leaveIt never feels good leaving your friends. But the wicked will fall!Supper's ready, redemption draws nearThe bride will put on her wedding gown. The guests are strolling into the courtyard. You know the dress code's strictly enforced. The bridegroom puts on the finishing touchesto the house where they will live. Now it's time to rescue his beautyfrom the clutches of the cold...Repeat ChorusNo time to grieve, it's time to leave your life behind. It's time to seek, it's time to find your way back home. But the wicked will fall!

Hi opensky....Gave this a listen... a very well done recording and some intrickit werk on the intruments and guitar solos..... musically interesting harmonic and melodic directions and textures.. and consistent feel throughout.... From a lyrical side, the message is clear, direct and a universal CCM theme.... the one aspect that struck me was that it may be a prosody problem... you have a dark chord structure and melody with a very illuminating positive message lyric.... seems to communicate that " oh boy... heaven is ready.... but man its a drag.... really depressing isn't it...? " for instance.... no time to grieve... yet the underlying music is really somber.... the experiment would be to do the same progression and swap all majors with minors and minors with majors....see what happens...ArkJack

Thanks for your comments. As far as the lyrical side, I understand what you mean but I'm actually going for a different effect. Actually the message is more of a warning than edification. But back to the music, i redid the intro and improved the mix slightly. When you get a chance let me know what you think. Thanks.Quote:Hi opensky....Gave this a listen... a very well done recording and some intrickit werk on the intruments and guitar solos..... musically interesting harmonic and melodic directions and textures.. and consistent feel throughout.... SteveI remember your tunes from Drums on Demand a few years ago. Especially Fan the Flames. Are you guys still not signed yet? I cannot believe that. You write such sweet, uplifting CCM music. Right up there with the Tree 63s of this world. Will be keeping an eye out (again) for you! Hang in there - it's coming.Liam Kelly.
