I'm submitting for this listing:
AMBIENT, CREEPY INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a NON-Exclusive Music Library that's placing music in several great shows, including a big cable hit! They're searching hard to find a bunch of spine-tingling, Down-Tempo Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the Title Theme of the popular TV Show American Horror Story:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqJGHL3lnSMQuoting the source: "We're looking for something in the vein of the American Horror Story opening theme (this has a lot of SFX/sound design, which is great) - but this illustrates ambient and creepy without being psycho/thrasher/horror. It has a very slow, kind of 'tip toe-y' feel to it, ticking, sparse percussion accents." Good description library dues! Give them haunting Cues that combine inventive soundscape and clever production techniques to create a downright disturbing piece of music that could work in all kinds of creepy scenes. Instrumentation can vary, but it should focus on a central melodic motif, while layering different elements to keep your Cues tension-filled, forward moving, and compelling.

Looking at the requirements again, i'm thinking maybe not enough ticking percussion...

Re: AMBIENT, CREEPY INSTRUMENTAL CUES
It's definitely got the tip-toe "creepy crawly" vibe going. Some more ticking and light (very light) background percussion would probably amplify that effect. Nice solid, foundation!

Re: AMBIENT, CREEPY INSTRUMENTAL CUES
Hi Andrew! I think the bones of what you got here are nice. I think the tempo is a bit fast though...the brief is asking for "very slow, tip-toey feel to it". I listened to the reference track for the American Horror Story and tapped out roughly 65 bpm and it sounds like your piece is around 85 bmp roughly. I would also pull down the shaker sound in the mix, to me it sounds a little too out in front. I like where you go with the piece at the :48 mark. That section I think hits the mood the best in this track. The transition between sections could be a little smoother though. I like the idea of bringing the beat back at the 1:32 mark but I'd consider changing to a closed hi hat or bringing that down in the mix and adding having the bass drum come up and hit "on the 1" when it transition to that section. I would take another listen to the reference track that they provided and note the instrumentation, sound effects and feel and try to emulate that as best you can with what you have. As always, this is just my 2 cents. I hope this helps. Good luck!!
