Post by brandonamatias » Wed Nov 17, 2010 3:13 pm

Hey everyone! Would love to know what you guys think on this one. Please forgive the mix, its probably not too great (ears are shot right now). Will try to mix again tomorrow. Comments on everything including mixing, production, performance, etc would be great!

Thanks you guys for taking the time to listen! http://www.taxi.com/brandonamatias "Rockin the AC"

Brandon

Love this stuff.

I wish it were still in serious demand.

Great solo.

Hey Brandon, I think this sounds really good and on target for AC/DC listings which come up pretty often. I really dig your rhythm feel and soloing and guitar sound.

If I might make a few suggestions. The bass seems a little light in the mix which could be because of your monitors or your room or just burnt ears. If you're not doing it already, mixing the bass in headphones can really help.

The other thing I noticed is the Rhythm Gtr R could open up more. Listen to some AC/DC stuff and I think you'll find that both Malcolm and Angus usually play pretty aggressive parts but slightly different from each other. Especially on tunes like this which reminds me of older AC/DC.

Brandon .. Great guitar .. sound soo fine .. But being a guitar guy too.. I think more of a face melting lead should be inserted in there .. Just my two cents .. Great song even without that ..

Hi Brandon. This one rocks. Great riff a la "Whole Lotta Rosie". Cool guitar sound. Right in the pocket for any AC/Dc listings that might come up. From 0.45 it needs another riffing guitar on the right - just until the solo comes in. There is one there - you could even try bringing up the level of that one. I'd be careful with the two guitars soloing. It does add energy - but it can sound a bit cluttered. I'd suggest a stronger tighter ending. Cheers, Doug

The guitars sound great but the drums need a lot of work and the bass is pretty much absent. Crank the bass and kick and get the drums more into a live feel . . . besides fills etc. the sound needs to be bigger, more open but compressed on the drums.

Work on the drums and bass and this song would be perfect for an AC/DC ala!
