So, this being my first attempt at Orchestral Instrumentation let alone Epic, I'm quite lost to what the listings may be after...Any clues to where my track may stand in terms of this listing?I may just save this for something else if it's not a good suit..Devil's Spawn:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... rueorTrack no.1 on:www.taxi.comCheers!Kel(This track is derived from my other track "STONED...upon ur shiny demonic fiery satellite", hence the title Devil's Spawn)EPIC ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSERS are wanted by the Director of Music at an L.A. based Music Library/Publisher with current MAJOR film and TV placements (e.g. Film: Twilight, I Love You, Man, He's Just Not That Into You, Television: Ugly Betty, True Blood, Beverly Hills 90210, and many more). He is looking for "the biggest, most epic modern/hybrid orchestral pieces available." He said it doesn't have to be a live orchestra but it definitely should not sound like you used "samples". You must own 100% of your composition. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three compositions online or per CD. Photo and bio are optional but it's a good idea to include them in the submission because the company does feature the artists they use on their web site. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Wednesday, May 6, 2009.TAXI # Y090506IN

Re: Is this Epic or just another Instrumental?

Wow! I really like the beat, guitars and piano on this track!! Awesome! But, I would like to hear more orchestra instruments, it sounded only to be strings, and violin strings only?

KelNot much for pol's, like the Fin's and Swede's though.Very powerful. Not my expertise but sounds like a top notch production.I say she's going "forward" for shure.Paul

Hey Kel - I like this alot, but, my interpretation of the listing is that they're probably looking for more orchestral stuff. To my ears your piece is industrial/techno rock with some orchestral elements. What I get from the listing is that they're looking for more orchestral stuff with elements of more modern sounds/grooves etc. But then again I could be totally wrong... Kind of a guessing game sometimes, yeah? It's a smoking piece though and it should find a home somewhere. eo.

Kel Good Track!I agree with above comments -> Not enough orchestraFor this particular listing anyway. You might want to back off the "in your face guitar" a bit and bring out the strings more. You might have to layer in some other orchestra parts also. I also wonder if your strings aren't a bit too synthy for this listing. I hope not as your use of them gives my stuff some hope!Good Luck!Keith

I would submit this to the crime listings in a heartbeat. To my ears it doesn't sound hybrid orchestral as I would categorize it, the strings add a nice texture but they are electronic sounding which works in context of the piece but not in context of the listing, IMO.Good work!Mazz

Yes Kel!!Throw this at the crime listing, not the Epic Orchestra. This is one of my favorites from you. Everything blends together very nicely and your intertwining piano"ish" line sounds just perfect with that echo. Production is great. Loved it!B
