And The Forward Goes To...

Post by prez » Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:26 pm

Well. After six tries, I finally received my first forward. I looked back at a couple of the critiques that I received before this and now I realize that if I don't want my five bucks to go to waste, better make sure that the music is spot on for the listing. Wasted $25.00 trying to take shortcuts. Won't be doing that any time soon.In hindsight, I'm digging the fact that it didn't take me TOO long to get my first forward and I still have a plenty more to go. Good deal. Looking forward to my next...uh...forward. God bless. Jude 2

Congrats, Jude!! That first one feels like you won an Oscar for best song, doesn't it? Plus there's some ruefulness in there with 'lessons I learned to get this' playing back (at least in my mind). Many more to come!

I have to laugh at myself a little as I recall my own "thinking" early on in my "Taxi career", regarding a listing that wanted "soaring orchestral" for a ski movie. I sent a New Age track instead because I though it would go better with skiing than what they were looking for. Talk about missing a target. I know you weren't nearly *that* far off previously which is why "hitting the target" and getting a forward only took a handful of tries for you. Good stuff... Dave

Big cause for Celebration, if you ask me. congrats. It took me WAY over 25 submissions before I got my first forward. And there are many, many folks on these boards who took ten times more than I did. Now, the thing is to keep 'em coming...Ted

Thanks for the encouragement. Appreciate it immensely. I'm pretty much bound and determined to bring that number down to once every three or four tries. I'm attempting to put a team together of vocalists and rappers as well as assistants (have no idea why they want to work with me) so I can expand the number of listings to submit to and possibly join Dispatch. What was cool also was that was my last song in my queue. Pretty blessed and happy on my end. For me, it's God's validation to keep at it. He's gifted me for this and gave me the calling to do it. I don't have a choice. I gotta keep going. It's not something I just want to do. I'm compelled to do it. Oh...BTW, Jude is not my name. Jude 2 is a biblical reference. Look up Jude 2 and you'll know why I put that at the end of all my posts. Jude 2. God bless.
