Matt,
This is great inspiration for someone like myself who just started with Taxi and came to the realization that I'll see more returns than forwards in my immediate future.
We all know your success didn't happen overnight and it's encouraging to know all your hard work & patience is paying off. Congrats and see you at the Rally!

Re: Annual Update - 5 Years In, now quitting my day job!
Thank you to everyone for taking a moment to read! To be able to support myself financially through music has been a dream of mine ever since I picked up my first guitar at age 10 (well, really, ever since I watched my first Motley Crue video in 1989... Dr. Feelgood, baby!). I'm still making inroads, and at the moment have to keep a safety net in place. But the dream is really happening.
And it all started at the Road Rally in 2011.
Speaking of.... I'm sooooooo excited to see all of you! To meet up with my friends again for our annual drinks and toasts; to finally meet my collaborators I've only conversed with via email; and to meet all you Forum folks who are all so supportive and wonderful.
I cain't friggin' wait!

Thanks for your post! It's great inspiration for a "newbie" just six months into Taxi and all the opportunities it offers! The work is overwhelming right now, but I hope my first Rally will help me focus more efficiently on the music I want to make for the right opportunities.
