I really like the melody in this. It's very memorable. There are a few spots where the bass and drums are out of the pocket, but that is easily fixed with session players. I'm not sure this would fit the description of 'lounge' – I think the bass is too rigid and trad, but I'm no jazz expert. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, there are a few bass/drum spots, broke my own rule and tracked them rather than record live.
I was def thinking trad, based on the artists mentioned. Trying to get a Wynton Kelly, hip kinda vibe.
I also tried to capture the mid to late 50s sound with mic placement, etc...
