Quote:come on mazz ya gotta admit that taxi doesnt work for everybodyHmmm -- I'd say it's like AA - it works if you work it. And not everybody is willing to do what it will take for it to work for them (and what it will take for it to work for them will look different for each individual). AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT - unless you're blaming TAXI for your choices. "I'm just going to write what I write." That's a valid way to approach your art - and there are consequences to that choice. It may make it harder for you to find your audience/customers/clients. Not impossible, but possibly more difficult. And a service like TAXI may not work for you. Again, nothing wrong with TAXI or you - more that you're not a good fit for each other. Whether you're writing "commercially" or you're writing what you write (or some combination of those two things), if you want your music to be heard and appreciated by someone outside of your grandma's basement, you must learn to market yourself. That's just the reality, folks. And as I often say to my clients when they start whining -- get over it.Do you "have to" work it the way Mazz or Vikki or Dean or any of the other successful TAXI members are doing it? No - but there's something to be said for studying those who are having the success you desire and modeling yourself after them. Not copying them, but modeling the behaviors, habits, thought and mind sets that are contributing to their success. And you can do that by Chinese Menu - one from column A, etc.But to blame the tool (ie TAXI) for your choices and the results of those choices (i.e. the results or lack thereof) is a silly waste of time and energy - IMNSHO*. Time and energy that could be better spent honing your craft and marketing your music.Your Coach,Debra*IMNSHO - "in my not so humble opinion"
