Well, heck girl, ya know she was probably high on passive smoke! Tell her I said hey and I'm gonna hunt her up and find out what really went on (ya know we tell our kids a totally different version, right? Right? )I love alternate tunings.......does anyone remember Sailing by Christopher Cross? Those different tunings can really bring it back down. xtina = Christina Aguilera

Re: Any Allman Brothers fans here?
I just happened to look down here in "the basement" --- WooHoo! I LOVE the Allman Brothers! Man, were they a great band.I remember a story by Bill Graham when the Allmans came to New York City to play at the Fillmore East for the first time. He took one look at the guys getting off the bus, and thought "Whew! WHAT do we have here? A bunch of hillbilly bikers? Man, do they look rough!"Then the band did a sound check, and Graham was floored! "Geez, these Southern boys are almost playing JAZZ! Wow, are they great! Not what I expected ---"The Allman Brothers didn't have the usual food and beverage list in their contract --- like the regular beer, Jack Daniels and ham and cheese sandwiches most bands prefered. Other than the herb that they brought for their own consumption, the one thing that they asked for was a case of red wine. Pretty classy guys, really!BTW, it you like the Allman Brothers' live recordings, I just dug out an old vinyl record the other day of Eric Clapton playing live with Derek & the Dominos from about 1973. It's SO good, I recorded it onto CD! And the mix and sound is excellent, too. That band was just fabulous, especially Jim Gordon on drums (R.I.P.). And Clapton was in top form back then. Maybe he WAS God!Ern

Unfortunately, I couldn't use the "1st Side" (you youngsters know what that means? ) because it was too scratched up. The rest sounds fine, though.I just bought a real nice Grado Prestige Red phono cartridge, and have been archiving my vinyl LPs. It's amazing how wonderful a well-taken-care-of LP sounds, compared to a commercial CD! I'm hearing so much more detail and depth than I've ever heard on a CD. I'm recording them on a professional standalone CD recorder with great A/D converters, and they sound fabulous. --- I had to buy expensive "gold" CD-Rs because the CD recorder records in real time, so it doesn't like the new high speed CDs that are so cheap. But even at a buck apiece, it's WAY cheaper than buying commercial CDs!Squids, ol' buddy, if you'd like a copy, PM me with your address --- seriously! I'll send you one. It's about the best "driving music" I've heard in awhile!Ern

I used to play the "Eat a Peach" album over and over until the grooves were completely worn out. Casey
