I don't know Sarah Blasko, Googled and she seems to be an Australian singer/songwriter - lumped in with Hans Zimmer & David Newman- did I miss something?
And what do you think they might be looking for? Very sketchy on detail - comedy? rom-com? drama? horror? Anything? I dunno what to write! Innovative how?

I'm with you on this one. Zimmer and Newman are straight forward. Sarah Blasko, huh? I looked to see if she as any instrumental stuff and couldn't find any. Considering it's underscore stuff maybe they are looking for a wide variety of stuff. I've got a few things I'm thinking of fine tuning for this. It is confusing. Sure wish somebody in TAXI could weigh in on this a little better.

I'm just guessing but listening to a bit of her stuff, the most likely candidate for "underscore" would be a song called "Perfect Now". Taking the vocals out of the picture, the instrumentation has light acoustic guitar and sparse orchestral instrumentation, would work very well for a lot of underscore stuff, and would be in line (stretching reality a bit) with much lighter Zimmer and regular Thomas Newman stuff. That's my guess.
It does seem though that between those three... that the target would be pretty wide.
