Anyone tried midi guitar?? Jamstik anyone??

Post by becw75 » Wed Jun 17, 2015 2:37 am

Hi

I'm not a guitar player, but need to start laying down some guitar in my tracks.

I like the idea of midi guitar so I can edit mistakes, but have the sound at least authentic somewhat.
(Especially next to keyboard midi guitar)

The Jamstik looks pretty good, but is kinda $$$??

Does anyone have any experience with the Jamstik (or other midi guitar)??
I found only one YouTube review where they were using with Protools and PLAY…. so seems doable.

I have no experience with Jamsticks. Looks very cool.

I have had a Roland GR-20 and an Axon AX-50, though. Greatly preferred the Axon.

Now, I use a software based solution, which is much cheaper (100$) and tracks better than anything else I've tried.
Highly recommended: http://jamorigin.com/products/midi-guitar/

And you can just use your regular guitar, no additional hardware required. I sold the Axon second hand for more..

You said you don't play guitar??

You should maybe look into Ample Guitars. Also Guitar Pro 6 the tablature software. Ample's tab page is fully compatible with gtx GP files.
