Basically I'm really good at making crazy squarepusher-esque electronic drum patterns. I was wondering if you guys think it would be possible to get any work as a session musician / programmer since I'm pretty sure no-one else occupies this niche. If so how would I go about this? Its tricky if you want work as a session guitarist or something but I have no clue where to start if I would want this sort of work. Here's something I whipped up today that will sort of illustrate what I do.http://www.sendspace.com/file/mehtwgThanks for your time.

Re: Are super human drums marketable?
Ha ha, awesome! Nice work - I like this stuff too. As for programming...well, you never know, but my gut instinct is that this is a sub sub genre and it's populated by solo artists who generally don't contract stuff like this out. You know, it may be like trying to sell songs to singer-songwriters. Not to be discouraging or that I have the inside scoop or anything. One avenue you may want to consider is selling your own loop/sample CDs. I've bought a few "DIY" sample CDs off e-bay with mixed results. But peaceloveproductions started selling really high-quality sample CDs as a small operation - if you flip their early discs over you could see that it's just a CD-R they probably burned themselves But their loops are high quality and now they have much more pro production (they also sell smaller packs of loops as digital downloads, which is another approach you may want to consider)Yeah, this is the old quandary of the more underground you get the less of a market there is...I feel for you! This is really high quality work, though, so once you find the right approach I'm sure you'll do well. Good luck!
