ASCAP Intl Royalty Doesn't Show On Domestic Statement

My May 2015 ASCAP International statement shows a placement on MTVs Nine Days and Nights with Ed Sheeran, however my Domestic statement and ASCAP's website don't show it on a cue sheet. The show first aired in the US June 10, 2014. This is only my second placement, so I'm wondering is this pretty normal for a domestic cue sheet to lag that far behind an international one?

Every now and then you can have a placement on the international version of an episode that wasn't in the domestic one. It's happened to me a few times. Sometimes to cut costs, replacements are made in the international version to use a track that cost less than the one used in the domestic version.

Thanks Casey. Seeing as that I'm pretty sure on the low side of the music licensing food chain, swapping out my song for the domestic version seems unlikely. I sent an inquiry to ASCAP and I'll keep this thread updated for educational purposes.

I think you may have misunderstood... Let's say in the original domestic version there is some OTHER track, unrelated to yours, that cost them (the international users) too much money for their budget. Then they may look for less expensive ones as replacements. So being on the low side of the budgetary food chain is why it may happen.

So you can have a usage in the international version that is not in the domestic one.

Am I making sense?

Update:

ASCAP got back to me about a month ago and said they were closing the issue out. That no cue sheet had been submitted yet, so they couldn't do anything. They indicated that they requested the cue sheet and would process payment upon receipt of cue sheets.

As of this morning, I see that the domestic cue sheet has been submitted and my track shows a placement for 1:18. I would think royalties for the placement will hit my next domestic statement.

Summary
- Show first aired in US in June 2014
- Then aired Internationally between July, 1 2014 and Jan, 1 2015
- Placement showed on my International statement May 2015 (did not show on domestic)
- Domestic cue sheet registered around Aug 2015

I'm really glad it is sorted and I hope this thread might be of help to someone else in understanding how timelines for this stuff can work.
