Interesting track It seems to have a lot of compression. I´d make it more dynamic. You wouldn´t believe how long it took me to write this short comment. Your choral music bends time (or something like that) - JH

Ooh, interesting! Love the choral part. The "ba-da-ba-da-da" part could (perhaps, only a suggestion) be more intense, either changing the rhythm so it's more intricate and making it melodic, a sort of counterpoint to the rise and fall of the choral parts. Like a vocal bass line. Or if you like the drum effect it has, change the rhythms so the stress isn't on the 1 every time. If that makes sense. I could sing it to you but trying to describe it....uh. Anyway, I like it. Like jh said, it's been thwarted by compression but that's easily remedied. I know it's got that haunting quality that you like (me too!) but it's a bit too dampened. Just my thoughts. The melody is pretty chorally. Perhaps the ba-da parts could investigate that melody more?

Thanks jh & Squid. Bending time, huh? Is that what happens when, at 10:30 pm, I say... 'oh, I'll just fix that, and then go to bed'. And then I look at the clock two minutes later and it's 1:30 am? Can you tell me - cause I want to know what to listen for - what it is about the sound of the piece that tells you it's over compressed? Is it a little muddy or a little too sharp... what is it you hear. Help me learn. (I'll try rendering a version without compression and see if I can hear the difference.)Thanks for the comments on the percussion, Squid. Those lines are bothering me too. Hi - I did a few edits & uploaded a new version. I think it's a little cleaner, and that the over compression made it sound too sort of soft around the edges/muddy. Not sure if the Wagnertuben is too forward in the mix... http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true

MUCH betta, Vikki. The compression earlier was less to do with muddiness and more to do with the volume sounding artifically level, something you know doesn't happen in real life. Too much "sameness" in the vox volumes.This sounds more realistic. I really like it. It has this strange, eerie air to it, like a lot of your music does.....hypnotic, graceful and yet with darkness in it. I'm not sure about the bass line, I think you could do betta on it.....a more flowing jazz line (could you pull that off vocally?).....for examples, try Bobby McFerrin's a capella stuff, like song six on Circle Songs:http://www.amazon.com/gp/recsradio/radi ... 5&disc=001

Vikki,this is interesting...and quite well done!I'm not sure what I would do with it though...I wonder if it's too "genre bending" for it's own good.The choral stuff seems to pull it in one direction, the quirky mouth percussion and "spoken" stuff somewhere else...and the bass sound and part almost pulls it towards electronica, but not really.Strictly from a "usability standpoint", you might be better off having all the elements pull in the same direction, so it fits more clearly in a well defined genre or mood.If usability is your goal, of course.
