Asian forward anybody?

Post by slideboardouts » Mon Feb 11, 2008 8:29 am

Did anybody here get a forward for the listing asking for a cross between tradtional east asian music and western pop/rock/hip-hop?I submitted two hip-hop tracks that sounded pretty asian but were both rejected. I kind of figured that might happen since hip-hop was the last genre mentioned on the western side of things. Here are the two that I submitted:Yakuza Moon: http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueLin Kuei: http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueDoes anybody mind posting their song(s) up?-Steve

Hey Steve-- I thought both your tracks were good, with Lin Kuei being a little more interesting, but both had good ideas. I went 50/50 on this submission: Lotus in Sync got the forward, Desert Trace got rejected (it is more mid-eastern than far-eastern in tone). That brings me up to 30 forwards since I joined near the end of 2006. Still waiting for my first call/email for some kind of placement. Patience, Grasshopper, patience....

Congrats on the forward dj! The track sounds great. Thanks for the compliments on mine as well. I thought that I was fairly on target but I also thought I was taking a bit of a gamble by submitting to a listing like this...especially with 2 hip-hop songs I have a feeling that the library that posted this listing is the same library that posted the timbaland listing that I was forwarded for. They accept online submissions so I submitted those 2 tracks along with another timbaland track that I finished a few weeks after the deadline. Can't hurt to try If you've had 30 forwards I'm sure you'll get a deal sooner or later. good luck-Steve
