Atmospheric Indie Electro - S130118IR

Post by neuman » Sun Jan 20, 2013 5:06 pm

Hey folks,

This is my first stab at this kind of sound. Song is called "Go Your Way" on my taxi hosting page. Adapted a classical piano piece I had written a few years ago, rather fun to transform it into this!

S130118IR
ELECTRO-BASED INDIE ROCK SONGS in the style of M83, Ellie Goulding, The Naked and Famous, (Dreamy, Atmospheric, etc)

Hope all's well!

Neuman

Very nice Neuman, I enjoyed your track!
I wrote one specifically for this listing too, didn't make the deadline... but still working on it.

Love it Neuman :) Listened to it with my eyes shut (it's like 2am here) and it was so flowing that it felt like a modern lullaby - really nice.
Thanks for sharing :)

hi neuman

this was really nice. i liked it a lot! my take, for what it's worth, is this: i think you get a really unique and cool vibe in the song, but the intro doesn't set that up. The intro is rather stereotypical in sound and chord progression. You have 10 seconds to grab a listener, and that was my main impression upon first hearing the song. IMO, you could cut the arpeggiated intro altogether, and then bring it back, or a portion of it, underneath the chorus. that's the harpist in me. i like arpeggiations in the chorus 8-) And that way we would get to the cool fresh vibe a lot faster. good luck with it, wenda

Thanks Andy!

And Wenda, I totally get where you're coming from on that first 10 seconds. I wanted to make something familiar sounding off the bat so when the first chorus hits it's a bit of a shock. I'll try a few things and see where it sits then. And it's lovely to see a harp player on here!

See ya!

Neu good thought! But maybe starting with the real stuff is shock enough! In a good way. I really liked it. Fresh sounding stuff is rare.
