Avatar problems
I'm trying to spruce up my messages. I found a thread that explained the whole process for adding an avatar. I was able to add a sentence but when I pasted the URL to a photo from my myspace photos page into the space in the edit profile part of the forum, nothing appeared. Just to make sure I got this right. I go to my Myspace page, where I have a bunch of pictures hosted, click on "my photos" then click on the photo I want, copy the address that appears in the address window up top, then paste it in the right window in the Taxi Forum edit profile section. Is this correct?

Re: Avatar problems
When you go back into edit your profile, is what you pasted still there? When you paste THAT into your browsers address bar, does it bring up the picture?Addendum:They way you describe would give you the address of the page, displaying that picture. Right click the picture, click properties, and paste the whole address/url (make sure you get it all, it's tricky). Make sure it's 100x100 pixels or less. Joe

Re: Avatar problems
Here's my URL that doesn't seem to work. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... 6138587Now, do you have to crop the pic in some picture program first and make it 100x100 or will typing 100 for width and 100 for height in the profile do it??

Quote:Here's my URL that doesn't seem to work. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... 8587Here's what tinozigzag's url information looks like:http://a688.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/im ... e267Here's what arkjack's url information looks like:http://b9.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/0149 ... 11019These don't seem to show an actual picture BTW, when you click on it, but this is the text that seems to link to their picture that's showing as an avatar.Notice the similarities. Looks like they both use myspace web pages. I can't tell you exactly how to get this from your myspace page, cause I don't have one, but apparantly, this is how the text should look to some degree, which they probably copied and pasted to their avatar url blank space. Both you guys' look totally different. Perhaps they put their mouse over the picture and then right-clicked the picture and selected either "copy" or "copy shortcut", and pasted in their avatar url blank. Try both ways and see what happens.Quote: Now, do you have to crop the pic in some picture program first and make it 100x100 or will typing 100 for width and 100 for height in the profile do it??Can't say for certain, but what I did was crop the picture in another program as close to 100x100 as I could possibly get. It wouldn't allow me to get 100x100. One number was always different than the other, like 100x150, or something like that. But I brought the picture in my profile (by doin' a copy & paste) and then made the settings to 100x100 in my profile. ibanez468

Re: Avatar problems
What you have pasted is the url of the photo album page, not the picture. The url for the picture will look like like this (this one from my myspace):http://a836.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/im ... f8bfb.jpgI got this link, by right clicking my picture, clicking properties, copying the entire address/url (this is tricky, some of the address may be scrolled out of view). You can test this by pasting it in the address of your browser, it should bring up the picture and only the picture, not the photo album page.Joe
