Backing Track, Inspiration or What ?

I have what may seem a daft question to many, but to me it's a bit more than confusing

Regarding the listing below - please can someone tell me what exactly the pop artist wants the 'instrumental' track for ? Is it inspiration, or as a backing track ? Or something else ?

At first I assumed backing track so she will be inspired to write over the top of it and strum her guitar etc - but then I read "While your production may not be used in the final recording,"..... hmmmm

Can anyone enlighten me please ? I'd love to have more than just a vague idea what they are on about !!

Now this is a Good Question. They may not use your recording? Is it just for inspiration? Will they use the Song? Very confusing.

i'm thinking of submitting to this listing. what confused me the most was if she's looking for a lead melody track, or just the backing track. (i've sent a mail to taxi about this, awaiting reply). it says she will be writing her own melody to the track, so you shouldn't think she's asking for a melody track. but then it says "make it sound like a record with no vocals". and why is the listing asking for lyrics if she's looking to write her own lyrics to it? for inspiration, just in case something can be used (just like the track...?) wonder who this superstar is...
