"Bad Habit"

Post by bucyboy » Wed Jun 10, 2009 1:44 pm

I thought I would post a song that I wrote some time ago and get some opinions. Does this style fit anywhere in todays market? Any feedback is welcome. Is it worth pitching?www.myspace.com/bucwilliamsmusic click on "Bad Habit" "Bad Habit" by Buc Williams(copyright 1994 ASCAP)I met my baby back in high schoolI knew right then she was to good to be trueBut boys like me liked running aroundI couldn't let her go and I couldn't slow downI told her someday I would changeStop living back in those high school daysCause that was then and this is nowHow she puts up with me I'll never know howBut I never really ever seen her ever get meanShe never talks dirty and she always looks cleanAnd she don't smoke she don't drink a lotIt seems I'm the only bad habit that she's gotSometimes I find it hard to believeThat someone like her is with someone like meIt took me a while to start coming aroundWhen I opened my eyes just look what I foundAnd you'll never see many any tighter in jeansSo good looking still the girl of my dreamsNo matter what I do she still cares a lotIt seems I'm the only bad habit that she's gotBut I never really ever seen her ever get meanShe never talks dirty and she always looks cleanAnd she don't smoke she don't drink a lotIt seems I'm the only bad habit that she's gotAnd you'll never see many any tighter in jeansSo good looking still the girl of my dreamsNo matter what I do she still cares a lotIt seems I'm the only bad habit that she's gotIt seems I'm the only bad habit that she's got

BucI made the mistake of playing "if I had money" first.Liked this song, but the other was better:)You have a great voice. Like in the first song, you sound even beter with lower notes.I do not know anything about country except that it felt like I went back twenty years in time.Great production all the way through. Hope the country folks here give you a hand. Is it forgetable? Tell ya tomorrow:)Paul

Thanks Paul. I can't take credit for the vocals on "If I Had Money". I started using demo singers instead of singing my songs myself, and I've very pleased with the results. I am singing the "Bad Habit" cut. Buc

I am a country rocker and I liked your voice on bad habit. But I liked Tattooed in Texas better.Maybe becuz I could relate to it more Your stuff is catchy and the lyric is well written on all the songs i listened to. Your singing is well articulated and I cold understand the lyric without having to read them which is rare these days. I always try to give one thing to improve uponin a critique. The fiddle sounded OK but synthed on the songs I listened to, Ive got a great fiddle player I use when I'm going that direction as fiddle doesn't synth well(in my opinion). Overall... your writing is very well crafted and well presented. Bad habit a 8 ,Tattoed in texas a 9 which is good bcuz I save the 10's for my stuff I think your stuff is much better than most of the cr@p I've been hearing on the radio lately but like us all.... it's getting airplay. One last thing.... I would like to post a song or 2 if you could give me instruction on how to I'd greatly appreciate it.I've got a Mac if that makes a difference and when I post it I would like your critique. Good work...and good luck Buc. hiredgun

Thanks a lot for the feed-back hiredgun. As far as posting your music, after you sign in just click on the peer to peer section or what-ever section you want, then click on new thread in the upper right hand corner. Type or paste the lyric and type a link to where your music is located. I use myspace.com but there are a lot of others. You can also place a link to your songs that are on taxi. I am also new at this but I think you type www.taxi.com/(username). I need to try this too. Someone else with more experience on taxi might be able to give you better instructions. I wanted to post a picture with my user name and I haven't figured that out yet either. I look forward to hearing your material and thanks for the feedback.Buc

Great intro. I love the music. it has a great beat to it and it isn't too over the top. Would change the line how she puts up with me i'll never know how. has the word how in it twice. Catchy tune. Good lead guitar. Sounds an awefully lot like "Daddy's coming round to Momma's way of thinking".
