Bar Fight Scene

Post by swhit » Wed Jan 23, 2013 11:29 am

Hi All,

I was supposed to submit this for a listing with a bar fight scene but missed the early morning deadline.
Anyway, do yo think this would of worked for the listing and should I keep on the back burner for future
ones?

MID-to-UPTEMPO ROCK, SOUTHERN ROCK, BLUES ROCK or INDIE ROCK SONGS with MALE VOCALS are URGENTLY needed by the PRODUCER of a FEATURE FILM. The song will be played during a FIGHT SCENE outside a BAR so it's important your song has a GRITTY, TOUGH, MANLY feel a la:

"She's Long Gone" by The Black Keys

They want a song with a great RIFF and a COOL, CONFIDENT VOCAL. Submit songs with some PUMPED UP ENERGY. THINK: BRASH, ROWDY with a FIRE in its belly. Whiskey-soaked fists are flying! They need songs with "BLUE COLLAR" and some "SOUTHERN" appeal. Anything overproduced or too slick will not work. A brash BLUES-ROCK song or a swaggering SOUTHERN ROCK song may also work. INDIE ROCK in the vein of The Black Keys, White Stripes, The Heavy, etc. will also work if it has the required TOUGHNESS.

Great track I could see it working. Production wise I'd like the vox up a bit, maybe with a bit of parallel compression or distortion/EQ

Maybe the walk down 'riff' pre- break could be used as an intro?

We started working on this before a life event got in the way :( But as far as I can see it fits what they were asking for and the ala.

By the way I also love it :) My kinda music !

Hey Steve, bummer you missed the deadline for this listing, as I think you would've at least stood a good chance at getting a forward. BUT, this gives you an opportunity to go back in and fine-tune this song a bit more. For my ears, the vocals stand out a bit too much - someone else already mentioned some tricks on how to get them to sit better in the mix. Then, if you're really feeling crazy, try a smoking lead guitar line over parts of the riff just to give it a bit more "balls". Right now, this isn't getting as out-of-control as this Fight Scene listing asked for (but even though you missed the deadline, I think more rambunctiousness would help overall).

Hey thanks Matt. I'll definitely take your comments
into consideration. It was a bit of a rush job but
now I can tweak it as you say.

It's a forward for that listing, in my humble opinion. Your track has true potential for a sync op. If not a fight scene, a movement scene, ( cars on the move, or a plan being implemented ), as it has the masculinity for these scenes. Could even work for one of the car/ motorcycle restoration shows. Keep this one ready in your quiver! You have a winner. D.B.
