Re: Best Software EQ?
Nick,Looks like UA has both 1081 and a 1073 Neve EQ's. Do you have a favorite? I would think they're both colored but in different ways.Would be interested in your opinion. I've passed on them so far in lieu of some sample libraries. I do love my UAD-1 card, though, the Fairchild is my secret weapon on the drum buss!!! The Plate 140 is sweeeeeet! I'd like to see UA come out with a FW box like the SSL Duende or the TC stuff. Do any of your spies have some inside info on a possibility? I'd like to jettison my PCI card based stuff in the next year or so but I can't live without my UAD, man! I guess NAMM might reveal some stuff as well, I'll keep my eyes open.Cheers,Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: Best Software EQ?
Hey Guys,I downloaded the Massey EQ, and it's on the desktop of my computer. My question: after it's "unzipped," where is it on the computer? I can't find it. I also tried to put it in the Digidesign folder and unzip it, and it vanishes.I admit I'm pretty dumb with computers, but I've looked all over.If you guys help me find this little bugger, then how do I put it into the ProTools plugin folder that has all the other EQs etc. ? --- BTW, Massey says the download is specifically for ProTools LE and Windows XP, which is what I'm running. Thanks in advance,Ern

Does Pro Tools have a utility that searches/scans for new plug-ins on your computer? If it does, use that to find it. If you still have the unzipped folder on your desktop you could always unzip it again and make sure you "browse for the destination" you want to unzip it to = "plugin folder" before you unzip it again. Then you can drag n drop the unzipped folder to "My documents" and burn the unzipped folder to a CD using a cd burning program that will let you create a data CD. I back up all my non-audio downloads to data CD just in case I need them again in the future. Then you can delete the zipped folder from your desktop. You also might be able to find the one you unzipped by clicking start/search/for files and folders/all files and folders/ then type in the name of your plug-in and see where it is located on your computer.I hope this helps.Greg.

He's at NAMM Ern, I don't think you'll hear from him until Monday at the very earliest.
