Big Week!

Post by SawtoothPorter » Mon Feb 04, 2019 11:44 am

Wassup Y'all!!!

I haven't been too active on the forums lately...busy making lots of music

I had a great week last week and I thought I would share.

So, after many months (and one incredibly frustrating close call) I signed my first song to a lib. Then I signed 11 more :)

Yup...12, in one week!

Here is the rundown:

-A library (and a great one at that) contacted me from one song (vocal, full song, cinematic pop) and offered to take more. I signed 4 with them (one a collab with Steve Baruah).
-Through a really great collab I have with Steve Baruah we signed 4 (vocal full songs electronic pop).
-Through a connect I made at the Rally I am signing 4 cues and making more.

February 20 will mark my one year with Taxi. Thanks for giving me a platform to "get my music out there!"

Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to get to work and work hard :)

A small note of encouragement for anyone struggling right now. By the numbers, I had a forward rate of about 16.5% (~30 forwards, 181 submissions).

I wrote a lot of junk in this first year...like garbage level music...but the folks on here and the screeners listened to that garbage gave me feedback on my garbage and I got a little better. Everyone (mostly) here is here for your success (staff and members alike). Take the feedback, work hard, and improve.

I'm not quite a success story in terms of finance (however I am accepting paid production gigs now...again thanks to Taxi and the forums) but I am getting there.

Best,
Elliott
