Bluebird Mic - any recommendations?

One more thing. The pop filter that comes with the Blue Bird mic looks good but doesn't work well. I use a separate filter if I am singing loud.

The SM7B just arrived, and I've given it a quick test. Needs a lotta gain, but sounds nice and clear.
Sure is solid compared to the AT2020!

It has the three switches at the back: Flat Response, Bass Rolloff and Presence Boost. Anyone got a favourite combination of these?
And, have you had better results with or without the windscreens?

I tend to use mine flat for vocals, unless the singer likes to get up close and then you can use the bass roll off to mitigate proximity effect. I also use the bass rolloff when recording acoustic guitars unless it is a solo guitar part. It's a great mic.

Tried with the acoustic, but my Summit Audio 2BA-221 needed to be up at full gain, and there's much too much hiss.
Back to the AT2020 or MK-021A!

Hopefully, vox will prove better.

Tried it on my Saffire Pro 40 too, and it also had to be flat out.
Just too much noise to be usable.
The mic seems to be working OK on vocals, so I don't think there's anything wrong with it. It just obviously needs loads of gain.

Maybe it's just not ideal for acoustic lead; at least not with the Summit.

That mic should NOT need 60dB of gain; I'd suggest sending it back for warranty service, unless you just happen to possess one of the world's quietest guitars.

I've used an sm7 with a dozen pre's. It should not do what you describe.

Something is obviously wrong with it or you are doing something wrong.
