I kinda been lookin' at these off and on for fifteen years, hemming and hawing over whether they can really be any good for that little money. Now, I finally know the answer, and it's YAZ, you bet your sweet bippy. At least for those of you that know where your bippy is located, and still have one. Laugh-In references aside, these little buggers are amazing for choir, hand percussion, drum overheads and a smorgasbord of SDC duties, and if you shop hard, can be had for as little as $52 for a pair, shipped.
Some folks may opine that they're a tad weak, beyond 15KhZ but a little bitty shelving bump right about there puts them in KM184 territory, if you have a really nice prreamp and EQ. My preliminary tests indicate that with its solid output and unhyped high-end response, this mic will kill on choirs, acoustic guitars and yes, drum overheads, with the lo-cut engaged. I suspect it'll be a monster on mandolin and ukelele, too.
