Can't see the grid on my pro tools sessions

Post by charlie2 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 1:20 pm

Hi everyone:

I can't see the grid lines/marks when I put pt in grid mode. Shouldn't there be a change on my audio tracks when I switch to grid mode?

I'm not seeing any change with the other modes too, but I can still edit my midi and my shuffle mode still works.

Thanks for ya help

Hey Charlie - Don't know what version you're on, I'm way back in 7.4. On my edit window underneath the hand tool button, just left and underneath the transport it says grid and to the right of that there's a drop down arrow that will give you a choice of how fine you want your grid, anything from full bars to 64th notes. If you have it set at full bars you'll see fewer grid lines, 64th note grid will have lots of lines. Obviously you need to be in grid mode to use this.

Hope this helps.

Hey Eo.....I'm on 7.3 and I tried that but I'm on 64th notes and I see nothing. No grids.

I must have touched something somewhere.

I switch to all the modes but it all looks the same.

hey Charlie,

I've been in that same situation before. I'm not in front of my studio computer so I'm trying this from memory. Try clicking on the text "Bars|Beats" in the Bars|Beats timeline, just above your tracks. I think that toggles the grid off and on.

Big blue....I'm gonna try that as soon as I get a chance. Right now I'm at work.

Sometimes I post something and I can't reply to someone for weeks because of my limited time situation.

Anyway....thanks for the reply either way. I'll let ya know
